Table Top Racing

image

Not being a huge fan of racing games, here’s one that got my attention at first sight and has kept me addicted for quite a while.

Toy cars racing in different kinds of competitions, sometimes with weapons, others without, against the clock or other cars, etc.

Controls are smooth, gameplay is great, almost no ads. This is an awesome game. Check it out.

I am level

image

Retro game that reminds of 8-bit classics such as Manic Miner or Jet Set Willy.

I am level is a bit different because in this case you control a ball by tilting your phone and tap the screen to trigger springs, bumpers and other elements.

A fresh twist that maintains the 8-bit magic while introducing a new and interesting gameplay at the same time.

Bobbing

image

Fast paced game with just two controls: change color (blue or red) and change gravity (up or down).

With just that and a couple of platforms and portals Bobbing presents a minimalistic environment where you will constantly die (it’s difficult!) but will nevertheless try again and again until you succeed (it’s addictive!).

For hardcore players that enjoy fast and hard as hell games like this try also Super Hexagon.

Jack Lumber

image

Different kinds of logs (and other objects) are tossed and you have to cut them by carefully sliding your finger across them as fast as you can.

It’s similar to Fruit Ninja but it has some variations that make it much more fun. Like “lumber time” (“bullet time”), logs that have to be cut several times and/or in a specific direction, combos, straight cuts, power syrups, funny animals, and more.

AppBrain “concern” detector

image

This app lets you see information about your installed apps: concerns, ad networks, social SDKs and developer tools.

Concerns section tells you what the apps can do: access your contacts or accounts, cost money, etc.

If you enable the live detection mode it warns you every time you install a new app with any of the known concerns. Useful to be aware of what you install in your phone.

Trello

image

Trello is a collaborative TO-DO service where you manage cards (tasks) in lists (todo, doing, done, etc) organised in different boards (for each project, for example).

It’s simple and powerful at the same time. And probably there’s where its beauty lies.

Recently the app has been improved. Now it’s nicer and more productive.
